Welcome to the Adelaide Hockey Club website. We are a district club serving the Adelaide area, operating from our facilities at the edge of the parklands. We have teams for men and women through all senior and junior grades including Adelaide's largest Minkey competition.

The Adelaide Hockey Club is one of the largest and most successful hockey clubs in South Australia with over 300 members playing both the Junior and Senior competition. The Club also sponsors the largest Minkey (junior) programme in SA with over 250 primary school children from a large numbers of schools competing on a regular basis throughout the season.

The Adelaide Hockey Club has enjoyed great success over the years with many premierships in Junior and Senior ranks, and consistently has many of our players in State Representative teams and on several occasions had players represent Australia.

The Club's strength is in its membership base and the coaching experience and expertise which is across all grades and in particular our junior coaching program which is overseen by our Senior Mens and Womens coaches and Coaching Committee.

The Club as part of a Consortium shares its facilities with Pulteney Grammar School and Tennis Veterans and is centrally located in the south eastern parklands in Adelaide. I am pleased to report the major redevelopment of the site is nearing completion and we are excited by the new playing surface and expanded practice facilities.  An upgrade of the Clubrooms is also being planned and completion expected by the beginning of the 2009 season.

FINALS
Many of our teams have made it into the finals and would appreciate all the crowd support they can get.  This weekend (6th, 7th September), Adelaide teams are playing as follows:

SUMMER HOCKEY 2008-2009
If you interested in playing summer hockey over the 2008-2009 Christmas period, please put your name on the list on the board in the clubrooms.  Teams will be nominated depending on interest levels (a team will definitely be nominated for the womens Vets competition).  The first series is 2nd November-12th December 2008 and second series 8th February - 22nd March 2009.  The mixed competition is on Sunday afternoon/evening, women on wednesday night, Vets women on tuesday night and men on thursday night.  Teams for series 1 have to be nominated by end of September so please put your names down ASAP.

INDOOR HOCKEY 2008-2009

 Upcoming Social Events
A social committee has been formed - headed up by Marie Stacy and supported by Jo and Andrew Walsh, Sue Treglown and Bec Giles.  If you would like to help out, contact Marie.  There is a focus this year on enjoying playing on the new pitch which everyone has worked so hard to make possible - and using the clubrooms more.  This is an exciting time for the Adelaide Hockey Club as we support our teams and build a strong club culture for the future.

Senior Presentation Night - Friday 26th September at the clubrooms this year!  Cost $40 per person - see you team manager for a ticket as all tickets must be pre-purchased so that we have accurate numbers for catering and seating.  To be catered for by Raj on Taj.  The bar will be open and please note that no alcohol can be brought to the clubrooms as it contravenes our liquor licence.

CLUB REGISTRATION - Registration as a player with AHC prior to the season commencing is very important as it ensures that you are insured in case of injury, it allows the cub to finalise team nominations with HockeySA and allows the club to plan for the season.  The committee encourages all players to register and pay their fees before the season commences.  Registration forms are attached following.
